Hello students and parents!   May is here and the weather is warming up.

3rd grade 
Next week the 3rd graders are going to have the E.C.C.A. exams on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th May.


6th grade
On 31st May and 1st June the 6th graders are also going to have the E.C.C.A. exams.

We will begin unit 8 with 4th and 5th graders but we will not finish it.
We will being unit 6 with 3rd and unit 7 with 6th graders but we will only do half the unit.
School finishes on 22nd June.

Welcome back!

Autumn arrived officially today.

Unit 1 exams are going to be on approximately 7th October.

If you write it down, you remember more!

You can  copy the information into a notebook yourself , which is a good way of studying.

Also, if you like, you can print thisfrom your computer or your smartphone via bluetooth to a printer.

JUNE 2016

We now have only 2 weeks left until the kids finish for summer.
We are not going to finish the books. I prefer to go more slowly and be sure that you understand each unit and are able to use the language correctly.
My intention is to complete SEVEN UNITS of work.


This year we have completed the following units:

 6th grade : Units 1,2,*4,5,6 and spent three weeks preparing for the first official exams ever in English.

5th grade : Units 1,2,*4,5,6 and 7

4th grade: Units 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.

3rd grade: Units 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
 (*We didn't do unit 3 because it is about recycling in both 5th and 6th grades, which the kids find a bit boring)

At the moment we are doing:


6th grade: Unit 7 ( will and won't and cities in the future)

5th grade: unit 8   ( could/couldn't , can/ can't and computers)

4th grade: Unit 7   ( jobs, present simple, printing press)

3rd grade: unit 8** (holidays, can/ can't review, do you like?)

**We didn't do unit 7 about fairy tales (cuentos de hadas) because I prefer to do a unit with more useful vocabulary)


I hope to do the final unit tests Thursday16th or Friday 17th June.
At the moment I have only prepared the test sheets for 5th grade.

Soon we are going to celebrate Easter.
The Easter holidays will start on Thursday 17th March.
We will return to school on Wednesday 30th March.

How is Easter celebrated in the U.K.?


**We give Easter eggs to the children, usually chocolate eggs. There are lots of different types of Easter eggs. They are delicious.
 Here is a supermarket Easter food and Easter eggs.


 Here is a video of how chocolate eggs are made at CADBURY'S CHOCOLATE FACTORY in BIRMINGHAM ( a great place to visit with children!)



 **We eat hot cross buns: sweet bread with a cross on it. We usually toast the bread and add melted butter.

**We send Easter cards to our friends and family members.

We have Easter hat competitions. We call the hats BONNETS!



The shops have shop Easter window competitions.



In my town, we have a traditional annual football match on GOOD FRIDAY ( viernes santo)
called " The Uppies and the Downies". The two teams of 1000 players come from the high part (uppies) and the low part (downies) of Workington. This football match resembles the first game of football ever played.
Remember football was invented in England!!!! :)
