Today the school reports went home.
If your Mam or Dad want to see me to talk about your mark for English, please choose a time.
Soon we are going to celebrate Easter.
The Easter holidays will start on Thursday 17th March.
We will return to school on Wednesday 30th March.
How is Easter celebrated in the U.K.?
**We give Easter eggs to the children, usually chocolate eggs. There are lots of different types of Easter eggs. They are delicious. Here is a supermarket Easter food and Easter eggs.
Here is a video of how chocolate eggs are made at CADBURY'S CHOCOLATE FACTORY in BIRMINGHAM ( a great place to visit with children!)
**We eat hot cross buns: sweet bread with a cross on it. We usually toast the bread and add melted butter.
**We send Easter cards to our friends and family members.
We have Easter hat competitions. We call the hats BONNETS!
The shops have shop Easter window competitions.
In my town, we have a traditional annual football match on GOOD FRIDAY ( viernes santo)
called " The Uppies and the Downies". The two teams of 1000 players come from the high part (uppies) and the low part (downies) of Workington. This football match resembles the first game of football ever played.
Remember football was invented in England!!!! :)

UNIT 5 TESTS ARE COMING UP!!!
We are finishing unit 5, so here are the test dates.
Today Sunday I now have the test preparation sheets uploaded in PDF files for 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
Tomorrow I will write and then upload the 2nd grade preparation sheets.

December gets its name from the Latin word decem (meaning ten) because it was originally the tenth month of the year in the Roman calendar, which began in March.
YES! We are going to participate in the Autumn English Language Immersion Project!!!
Lola and I are so excited .
Only 5 weeks until we leave!!!
It is sad that we cannot take all the kids.
We would LOVE to take all the kids, but we are only allowed to take 25 of you. It was a difficult decision deciding which students to take with us. We understand that some students are very sad and are sorry for this.
NEXT WEEK we will organise a meeting in school, but here is some information ......

JOURNEY
We will go by coach ( autocar). The journey is approximately 2 hours.
In November it is COLD in Solanillos , GUADALAJARA.
You will need warm clothes, pyjamas, socks, etc. etc.
CONTACT
We will add images to the English blog every day.
The kids can take their mobile phones and we will administer them on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 20:15 to 20:45. Mobiles need to be labelled and placed in a ziplock bag, but we will explain this at the meeting.
I would like to set up a Whatsapp group with all the parents, if possible.
