Exams NEXT WEEK! Thanksgiving is on THURSDAY

Next week we are going to have exams for UNIT 2 for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
4ºA, 5ºA & 5ºB: Monday 29th November
3ºA, 4ºB, 6ºA & 6ºB: Tuesday 30th November

On THURSDAY it is going to be THANKSGIVING.


Thanksgiving is an American celebration, that is celebrated in the U.S.A. the 4th Thursday in November every year.
Thankgiving is also celebrated in Canada on the 2nd Monday in October.

2.The story of Thanksgiving:

The Native Americans helped the English who arrived from England in 1621 in Plymouth Colony in Massachussetts.
The Native Americans gave the English pilgrims food.
The English pilgrims were VERY hungry.
The Native Americans saved them.
The English pilgrims celebrate this day as a day to say THANKYOU.

3. What do people do?

(A)It is traditional for families to have a traditional meal imitating the food that the Native Americans offered the English pilgrims.

Main course- turkey, stuffing, different types of potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy and maize and other vegetables.
Dessert- pumpkin pie.

In 1621 the Native Americans offered turkey and vegetables and pumpkins to the English pilgrims.

The English pilgrims had never tasted pumpkins or maize.

(B) Thanksgiving is a HOLIDAY.

There are Thanksgiving Day parades in some cities and towns on Thanksgiving Day.
There are American football games. There is a long weekend.
A lot of people have a holdiay.
There is no school.
The government offices, banks and businesses are closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Song- I'm going to ride my bike until I get old. ( The song starts at 48 seconds) ( going to cantado siempre suena "gonna")
I'm gonna getcha = I'm going to get you ( te voy a conseguir). The song says " I'm going to love you, you're going to fall in love")
